The Local Government Finance Professionals Association of Queensland (LGFP) represents the financial and accounting professionals in Queensland Local Government. Our Association was originally formed in 1980 as the Local Government Accountants Association of Queensland (LGAA). In 2011 at the AGM, the decision was made to change the name to better reflect the work undertaken by members in Queensland local government.
The Association provides a forum for members to discuss the various problems which arise in carrying out the requirements of the Local Government Act, other the Local Government financial requirements, and other matters of common interest within Local Government. The flagship event of LGFP is the 3-day Annual Conference which is held each year to allow officers to discuss contemporary issues and learn from experts and peers.
