The Local Government Finance Professionals of Queensland (LGFP) represents financial and accounting professionals in Queensland Local Government. The Association was originally formed in 1980 as the Local Government Accountants Association of Queensland (LGAA). Our name was changed in late 2011 to better reflect the nature of our membership across Queensland councils.
The Association provides a forum for members to discuss the various opportunities and challenges which arise in the local government finance industry and across local government generally. The Association has forged strong relationships with key stakeholders including the Queensland government, Queensland Audit Office, Queensland Treasury Corporation and the Institute of Public Works Engineering Qld (IPWEAQ) which ensures that the voices of our members are heard.
